My pond deserves a page. It was self-built, with help from labor to technical. My boys and I, dug the hole, took out the rocks, built a wall, tore down that wall, rebuilt the wall, roughed in the plumbing, and cut concrete block to make a waterfall. San Diego Pond Company in Poway installed the pumps and filters, connected the waterfall, and placed the lining. We filled it up the first day and placed $2 worth of gold fish in it. They were all dead by the next day. Seems our tap water has toxic levels of ammonia. I guess it's OK to drink, but my fish couldn't live in it. It took a couple days for the ammonia levels were down enough to add more cheap fish.
